Martinique Snake Award & Best Animated Short Film: The only one (Poland) by Pani Pawlosky. A surrealistic vision of love, desire and broken heart.
Best Narrative Feature Film: Autumn Fall (Norway) by Jan Vardoen. Autumn Fall is an adult drama/comedy set in beautiful Oslo. Ingvld works as a lightning technician at the National Theatre but dreams of writing for the stage. However she can't stand actors. She still manages to entangle herself with two thespians, one a notorious hell raiser and she embarks on an exciting, scandalous, and utimately very dangerous journey that changes her life forever.
Best Documentary Feature Film: Nourhane, a child’s dream (Lebanon) by May Kassem. Nourhane was a singer and actress in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. She put a sudden end to her career and retreated away from the stage in the mid-60s. From that point on, she never spoke about her past, nor did she sing. Her grand-daughter goes into the world of filmmaking and at the age of 21 discovers her grandmother's past. From that point on, she is on a quest to find out as much as possible about her grandmother's career and life, and particularly about why her grandmother left a career at its height. Layers and layers of stories emerge through interviews, voice-overs, drawings, and animated sequences in a film centered around passion, and love.
Best Narrative Short Film: Ritournelle (Belgium) by Camille de Leu. Three young sisters find themselves on the tracks of a train. All three are at a crossroads in their lives, they confront their ages and experiences, out of sight.
Best Documentary Short Film: Green & Yellow (Trinidad and Tobago) by Miquel Galofre. Intimate conversations with homeless people in the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. With Sketch and Yankee.
Best Experimental Film: Kuwait (France) by Pierre Feytis. One morning in the suburbia, the rational everyday life of young Stéphane faces a disturbing turnaround when red stairs suddenly appear in her family garden.
Best Carribean Film: Below 0 (Costa Rica, UK, USA) by Itai Hagage & Jonathan Gomez. A meteorologist who narrates his experience in the Arctic through a voice recording; And how his life is linked physically and spiritually to nature.
